what type of reaction occurs at 2830°C and 0.50 at% Carbon upon cooling?

At 2830c and 0.5at % carbon upon cooling, SiC mixture is in liquid state.

I think the right question is asking at 2830c and 50% carbon upon cooling.

The diagram is a simple peritectic system with SiCas the only intermediate compound.

SiC has a stoichiometric composition of 50 % Si and 50% C.The solubility of carbon in silicon is very low.
