while we are going to set a goal we need to follow the below aspects:

is it achievable or not

legally and practically possible or not

is it specific or vague

measurable or not

should be linked with time period

and one should set goals and work to achieve them. other wise our regular activites can becomes bored and after one point of time we dont know what to do and what not to do. so, set a goal and work towards it, after achieve it go for another one and like wise.

in practically while employer is analysing an employees performance they considers qualitative and quantitative aspects also. along with these two we should also consider the future aspects of the employee and if he achieve what ever he set as a target for himself he should be treated as good and best employee.

in simple terms what i want to say is, not only restrict the appraisal for past, consider the future of the employee and decide the method and process. it really sounds good guys. target or goal is set by employee himself and he has to reach it.
