What is Ideal Dlode ande what are the half wave and full wav
Solution
1) ideal doide: basically diode is a uni directional element.
> ideal diode means there is no voltage drop across it.
> diode having two terminals i.e anode and cathode.
> basically rectifier is used to convert DC to AC.
> in half wave rectifier two diodes and two thyristors are used.
> in full wave rectifiers all the elements are thyristors.
> there is no need of free wheeling diode in half wave rectifiers.
> in full wave rectifiers free wheeling diode is required.
2. basically three phase transformers are two types. i.e shell type and core type.
three phase core type transformer:
the core consists of three legs with the magnetic circuit completed through two yokes.
> a primary and secondary of one phase is wound on each limb.
> it is possible to build core with only three legs since the flux established by three windings are 120 degrees apart in time phase.
three phase shell type transformer:
> a shell type transformer, which is not commonly used.
> it appears like three single phase shell type cores build on top of one another owing to the joint use of the magnetic paths between the coils.
> there is less iron in the type of transformers than in three equivalent single phase units.
> some economy in the common yoke sections can be further effected by reversing the middle coils as illustrated so that the flux carried corresponds to the phasor sum of the times phasors flux R/2 and flux Y/2 instead of their difference.
> the three phases, in these case, are more independent then they are in the core type transformer, because each phase as magnet circuit independent of the other, if saturation effects in the common paths are neglected.
