When connected to a 60-Hz voltage source with a signal amplitude of 100 V, an inductor exhibits an impedance of 54 Ohm. What will be the maximum current flowing through the inductor if the source frequency is reduced to 50-Hz?

Solution

Ans) Impedance of inductor diectly proportional to frequency so

for f1=60 Hz Z1=54 ohms

for f2=50 Hz Z2=f2*Z1/f1=50*54/60=45 ohms

Maximum Inductor current Imax=V/Z2=100/45=2.222 A

Imax=2.222 A
