Calculating the load impedance in a circuit The load (Z) in the circuit below absorbs a complex power of 16 + j41 VA when the voltage across it is 4.1 cos(100t + 151) V. Use this information to determine the impedance of the load. (Figure 2) Enter a complex number with three significant figures.

Solution

S=(16+j41)VA

V=4.1 cos(100t+151) volts.

V=4.1<151 volts.

I=S/V=(16+j41)/(4.1<151)=(1.434-j10.63) amps.

Z=V/I=(-0.228-j0.306) ohms.
