I am in ST260 and have my final Monday morning I havent kept

I am in ST-260 and have my final Monday morning. I havent kept up with it and am cramming for my final, which I need to do great on. I read my book which didnt help at all and have been watching youtube videos etc trying to figure it out. I really need some help. I understand the basic principles and overview of the chapters, but cant quite piece together what to do in each situation and what goes together. My test is not cumalitive. It is on chapters (8,9,10) (Interval estimation, Hypothesis tests, and Comparisons involving means, experimenal design and analysis of variance).

My main question is this: There is p- values, test statistic, alpha, z statistic, t -statistic, confidence level, critical value, etc...When I look at a question what is the first step to take, and what goes with what? If you could tell me what goes with what so I know if theyre looking for example for a p-value or critical value what other things would I need in my head to be ready to solve it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I would be forever grateful.

Solution

1st step: Set up the hypotheses.

2nd Step: find the test statistic.

3rd Step: Find the p value.

4th step: reject the null hypothesis.

5th Step: Decision.
