It is hydrophilic and atrract water molecules due to its functional group . But it is aplymer chai water does not have ability to surround compltely each monomerof cellulose fiber .Polymer is less soluble than monomwes because of entropy . cellulose have hydrogen bond but not as well as water and plymer have low entropy due to their confuguration and constrained. the attract water on the surface if the molecules are smaller then water . cellulose is a big polymer so the particals are to large too dissolved.
