Dr. Riggs conducted research on how much established drug abuser liked the effects of experimental new drugs. To located subjects, he placed signs in areas often frequented by homeless people, offering volunteers $1000 for participating in the study, which involve three weeks\' stay in a research hospital. (1) State the most the single most obviuos ethical problem or uncertantity in the study. (2) EXPLAIN specifically what about each study raised the ethical concern. And (3) STATE what should be done differently in each study to reduce or eliminate your concern.
Solution
1. The most ethical problem in these kind of study is that whether the sample would be representative of the population.
2. Since the study involves only one rsearch hospital, the sample collected would not be representative of the population. The sample collected from that hospital would represent only that section of population that visits that particular hospital. This will lead to biasness in the sample.
3. To eliminate this concern, the study should be carried out at each institute/or a samples institute rather than a particular institute.
