I just took this on a quiz and the correct answer is the first one, according to my graded quiz.
I don\'t know statistics well, but it does make sense to me physics-wise that you can\'t get more energy (BTU) out of a furnace (or anything) than what you put in. The only answer that indicates the furnace is (realistically) less than 100% efficient is the first one.
