You need to prepare solutions with 0 20 40 60 80 and 100 nmo

You need to prepare solutions with 0, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 nmol of p-nitrophenol (50 uM) with glycine buffer (50 mM) as the diluent and a final volume of 2.0 mL. How much p-nitrophenol (mL) do you add to each solution?

Solution

For 20nM p-nitrophenol

Stock = 50uM = 50000 nM

Required = 20 nM

Stock Volume = 2 mL =2000uL

C1V1= C2V2

(stock)   (required)

V1=C2V2/C1

V1 = (20nM X 2000 uL)/ 50000 nM

= 0.8 uL

0.8 uL of stock + 1999.2 uL of diluent gives 20nM of p-nitrophenol
