Total number of tickets = 81

let tickets sold by Tom = x

Steve sold 15 more then twice as many raffle tickets as Tom

therefore tickets sold by steve = 2x +15

total tickets sold = 81

(2x +15) + x = 81

3x +15 = 81

3x +15 -15 =81 -15

3x = 66

x = 22

therefore tickets sold by tom = 22

tickets sold by Steve = 2x+15

                                      = 2 * (22) + 15

                                      = 44 +15

                                        = 59
