How does the presence of nodules containing nitrogen fixing

How does the presence of nodules (containing nitrogen fixing bacteria) affect the growth and development of plants? Explain.

Solution

In Atmospherre 80 percent of Nitrogen is in gaseous form so plant can not utilize the nitrogen in gaseous form so plant animal and microorganism can die because of nitrogen dificiency. it is used to synthesise amino acid, Nucleic acid that are important component of life.

so plant need to fix the atmosphric nitrogen to the form which can be absorbed by the plants ( NH3). nodule formation play an important role in Fixing nitrogen. A common soil bacterium, Rhizobium, invades the root and multiplies within the cortex cells. The plant supplies all the necessary nutrients and energy for the bacteria and in return bacteria fixing the nitrogen make nitrogen available to plant. that is neccesory for plant devlopment.
