Discuss the percentage capturing p in relation to the correct confidence interval interpretation in both graph 1 and graph 2.
Graph 1
Solution
You can use either P values or confidence intervals to determine whether your results are statistically significant. If a hypothesis test produces both, these results will agree.
If your significance level is 0.05, the corresponding confidence level is 95%.
Graph 1 :-
In graph 1, 95% confidence interval [1001, 1100] does include the null hypothesis mean of 1050 which indicates that our results are not statistically significant.
Graph 2 :-
In graph 2, 95% confidence interval [1001, 1100] does not include the null hypothesis mean of 853 which indicates that our results are statistically significant.
