Hello just need a little help:
How pesticides kill and deter organisms, how they can move around in the environment, how they are studied (or not studied), why people use them (or don\'t use them), how they\'re regulated (or mis-regulated)--etc, etc!
Solution
Accumulation of pesticides in the different levels of ecological food chain from first trophic level to higher trophic levels is called biomagnification. When they accumulate in the higher organisms body they cause toxic affects to them and the organisms which feed on them.
One classical example is DDT poisoning in birds which affects the shells of eggs there by species extinction also occur.
Through the food chain these pesticides will be moving from one organism to another and Causing harmful affects.
They are very specific to different pests, so people are using them if we are using unlimited use it causes environmental pollution and biodiversity elimination problems. Their use can be regulated by using genetically modified plants or bio pesticides.
