Other evolutionary forces include mutation, gene flow and natural selection. If any allele is lost by genetic drift, mutation in different allele can help the individual to mimic or produce the same phenotype provide the allele lost. (This is the case only when allele has same sequence with little variation). while mutation in the same allele can cause loss of rare alleles.

The mode of gene flow however can be beneficial of organisms to survive in harsh evironment like camouflaging to protech themselves. While the genes for them if are not available, during gene flow, inclusion of new allele in the gene pool will benefit the organism.

The means of natural selection is a universal phenomenon. It support survival of the fittest. Any alleles lost or fixed by random genetic drift will affect the population to be either domninant or suppressive among other population. If we consider alleles for camouflage, which is fixed during random genetic drift, the organisms can survive by not being eaten by other birds. This is the advantageous trait. When such organisms reproduce among themselves, many offsprings with same traits are formed, and hence an increase in propulation with same traits are seen.
