Hydropower System

Objective(s)

Utilizing MATLAB, design a hydropower source capable of meeting or exceeding the given design specifications.

Equipment

MATLAB version 7 or higher

Specifications and/or Special Requirements

System must be comprised of a penstock and turbine, and be capable of providing 25 kilowatts from the fluid at rated conditions.

Procedure

Start the MATLAB application.

Design the source (system) in MATLAB to the design specifications.

Questions

Will the design work for other power requirements?

What would happen to the design of the system if the elevation increased?

Solution

Hydro power project system

It is produced due to the energy provided by the moving or falling water. The cost of this system is very low compared to other system. Also the pollution caused by this system is very low. So all together this is a reliable source of energy.

The hydropower system mostly uses synchronous motor.
