Why, when we forget to use a resistor, will an LED burn out if we connect it to +5V but not when we connect it to a gate output? (Think Gate Specs) Explain reasoning
Solution
Inorder to connect LED we will use Intermediate Resistor inorder to limit the Currents. LED will burn if excess currents flowing through it,Igeneral any Ideal device will offer LOW Input Impedence and HIGH Output oppositions
Hence if we connect any device directly to the supply terminals there may be chance of damage to it,but inorder to take outputs we can directly connect the devices where they may offer high Output oppositions hence there is a less chances for damaging the devices when compared to input side.
Thats why inorder to limit the excessive currents, resistor is generally placed as a intermediate to supply and LED
