1) In a Mammography imaging 4 x 10*14   x-ray photons from the tube were travelling towards the breast. The part of the breast directly in contact with the chest wall was at a distance of 30 cm from the x-ray tube. The breast was compressed by compression pad such that the breast length was 10 cm. Find the number of x-ray photons passed through the other end of the breast (opposite to chest wall side)??

Solution

total distance=30-10=20cm

number of photons in imaging=4*10^14

number of x ray photons passed through other end=number of photons in imaging/total distance

=4*10^14/20=2*10^13
