Debbie a doctoral student describes her use of the Technical
Debbie, a doctoral student, describes her use of the Technical Learning Pattern as follows:
“I don\'t really care too much about fixing things. For instance, a computer runs and that\'s all I care about. However, I do like tools and software which helps me be efficient and effective. I’m not really one to get excited about putting my hands on and take things apart. I will, though, if I need to. I\'m pretty good with technology and will tinker around until I figure out how a program or new software works. I typically don\'t read the directions until after I get stuck and once I start, I won’t stop until I conquer it!”
Based on Debbie’s description of how she uses her Technical Reasoning, what level does she use this Pattern?
Solution
Debbie is a technical student and she is quite economical and a great money saver. She is a doctorate student which shows she is quite intelligent and efficient in her work. But she must understand that technical guidance is not gained by just being scientific and quite confident. Every day there are new technological improvements and new theorems appear in every subject. So, if she insists on giving more labor , she must understand that one should be in good grasp with many fields and just by trial and error one may lose many points and could not do the work in the step by step correct way. It may also be time consuming. Hence she should approach some technical know how and get proper grasp of the software and its fundamental points. She is using this pattern in a haphazard level and would just be wasting time through running from pillar to post.
