Please describe how you have prepared for your intended major, including your readiness to succeed in your upper-division courses once you enroll at the university. I am a Mechanical Engineering major( use 350 word max)

The key to success in any course of study is to do smart study. You should be mentally ready to undertake toil and hard work to achieve your goals. In a course like mechanical engineering, students are expected to study a lot of subjects that too in less time. In order to succeed in upper division courses you should adopt a study methodology to suit you. It could be done in some of the following ways:

1. Before the start of such course, you should try to get to know what is course is all about. Try to interact with seniors who have already completed such courses with good grades. You should try to know their study stragegy and work your own to achieve desired success.

2. If you are someone who can\'t study on your own, you should try to get into group of students who are like-minded and who are good performers in class. Study with them and you would get a share of their knowledge and understanding of the subject matter. Many a times, someone in the group will be able to explain to others who couldn\'t get a hang of the subject.

3. You have the power of internet. Try to leverage that for such courses. There is a plenty of good study material available on internet from renowned universities. That will give you an exposure and additional information of such upper divisional course.

4. Don\'t put things for the end. Students have this habit of procrastination and study when the exam is knocking at the doors. Try to study on daily basis. This will help to revise things at the end.

And last but not the least, do take part in extra-curricular/co-curricular/sports activites as well. That\'s will help you to shape your career.
