To improve the availabilty of the system, the system is redesigned for the higher reliabilty and the need for maintenance is minimized. The use of Vibration Monitoring in CBS:-
As we know, all mechanical objects in motion generates some kind of vibration or vibration profile.This vibration profile reflects in operational condition. It is applicable to all mechanical equipments, regardless of speed as well as the mode of operation as of whether is ir rotation, linear or reciprocatory.

The process of the vibration analysis in real time is to interpret the real time complex data obtained from a specific machine. A vibration spectrum obtained from a machine or system can be a lot more complex, this occurs because of the presence of numerous and various sources of vibration. Each source generates a particular curve and all of them are subsequently integrated to form one complex spectrum. This vibration profiles can be shown in two formats:
1. Time Domain: Amplitude vs Time, used for reciprocating and linear movement machineries, acquired during the life of a machine
2. Frequency domain: its either velocity or displacent or acceleration vs time, circular rotations or linear movements
