Triploid Organism gamete n 13 How many Telomere Chromosome

Triploid Organism gamete n = 13.

How many Telomere, Chromosome, and Chromatids are there for Anaphase I and II?

(Explain in details each step, and show work)

Solution

Here n = 13 given.

Since the organism is triploid, the no.of chromosome in resting phase is = 3n = 3*13 = 39. The no. of chromatids = 39*2 = 78. The no. of telomeres = 39*4 = 156 (4 telomeres per chromosome).

Since the no. of chromosomes in anaphase I is maintained during meosis I thats why the no. of chromosome, no. of chromatids and no. of telomeres in anaphase I will be same as in resting phase.

But in anaphase II the no. of chromosome and the no. of chromatids will get reduced by half that is 13 and 39 respectively in comparison to anaphase I and hence the no. of telomeres in anaphase II will be 39*2 = 78 (2 telomeres per chromatid).
