Hi,

I got the answer for this question which asked i.e the components of A, BC and CD.

But i wanted to know that how do we decide which method we use?

Vector method or Scalar method for such questions..

Tension (Force) is a vector quantity. So, its components can be found using vector method method only.

Also, a vector has a diretion and the components of any specific vector is calculated in given particular directions according to our reference co-ordinates.

Area is defined as normal vector to the surface bounded, so it also requires vector mathematics for its calculation.
