1. Introduction:Java is one of the type of virtual machine software that is famous today.it is a popular programming language. And also a platform independent,meaning that a java programm can run on any operating system on any machine architecture .the basic asset for this java to be platform independent is byte code.basically a java programm is does not run on the computer we are presently using,it runs on a machine called java virtual machine (JVM) which was already embedded in the computer system.java consists of an interpreter called java interpreter .This JVM is emulated .i.e embedded inside the computer we are using by means of a programm .

History:java is invented initially dealing with television.originally this java language is known as OAK.later on ultimately the language is known as java.sunmicrosystems launched the java 1.0 in the year 1990.it pledged the \"Write Once Any Where(WOAR)\",offering the no-cost-run-times on famous platforms.finally in the year 2006 sun launched the java virtual machine containing free and open source.

Principles of java

1.it should be strong and secured.

2.it should be uncomplicated,object oriented programming and popular.

3.the execution accomplishment should be peak.

4.it should be convenient.

Due to this establishment of jit the excution speed is upgraded in 1978.JAVA does not support the pointers.because the pointers are unsafe.they corrupt the firewall between the host computer and java execution environment .morevover when the java programmers are confined to the execution environment ,they will never pointers and willl never get benrfited in using them.

java supports reference instead of pointers.because ,with reference types, the firewall cannot be corrupted,since the references cannot be manipulated as that of pointers.
