1) Why do 8088-based systems need EPROM at the high end of memory?

Solution

There is no internal memory in 8088 based system processors. It is need to store the instruction sets used to perform the operations. For this purpose we need a flash memory which can be only readable. For this purpose we are using EPROM at high end of the memory
