In recent years ubuntu linux version is integrated to windows 10 and it has made lot of improvements
in desktop area. Default more settings added, updating manager features, language setings, network improvements.

Now market share for linux is very high and for adminstrative purpose now every one was using linux envoronment
beacuse of good security and available options. Now mostly using popular distribution is ubuntu and linux mint.

Yes, i consider running linux in my machine as I am Ruby rails developer, we use linux mint OS. And it is very fast and
easy to use.
