Convert the following complex numbers to polar form 4 j4 3

Convert the following complex numbers to polar form: 4 + j4 -3 + j4 j + 2 - j4 -3

Solution

a) r = sqrt ( 4^2+4^2) = 5.65

thetha = tan^-1(y/x) = tan^-(1) = 45 degree

=> (r, thetha) = ( 5.65 , 45 degree)

b)   r = sqrt ( 3^2+4^2) = 5

thetha = tan^-1(y/x) = tan^-(-4/3) = 126.8 degree

=> (r, thetha) = ( 5 , 126.8 degree)

c)

r = sqrt ( 1^2+3^2) = 3.16

thetha = tan^-1(y/x) = tan^-(3) = 71.565 degree

=> (r, thetha) = ( 3.16 , 71.565 degree)

 Convert the following complex numbers to polar form: 4 + j4 -3 + j4 j + 2 - j4 -3Solutiona) r = sqrt ( 4^2+4^2) = 5.65 thetha = tan^-1(y/x) = tan^-(1) = 45 deg
