Given the following table What is the value of f1 6 a 2 b 3

Given the following table: What is the value of f^-1 (-6)? a) 2 b) 3 c) 2 d) 4 e) 3 f) None of the above.

Solution

Solution : (B)

Here f(x) is function and x is value or domain ,whenever we put the value of x in function f(x) then we get output .which is given in table:

x=6 then f(x) =2

x=-3 then f(x) = -6

x=-4 then f(x) =5

when we inverse the function f(x) then f^-1(x) is become input or domain and x become ouput or range. now it give ouput like this:

f^-1(x) = 2 then x= 6

f^-1(x) = -6 then x= -3

f^-1(x) = 5 then x= -4

Hence according to question our answer will be -3.
