I would like the procedure for solving this problem. The answers are in the parentheses.

For the circuit to the right, find the equivalent resistance, the total current, and the current through the 3.00 ohm resistor. (R_eg = 1.36 ohm 1_total = 6.62 A or 6.60 A; I_3= 3.00 A)

Solution

all three resistors are in parallel connection,

hence, 1/Req = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3

1/Req = 1/3 + 1/5 + 1/5 = 11/15

Req = 15/11 = 1.36 ohm ......Ans

current through battery = e / Req = 9 / 1.36 = 6.6 A ...Ans

In parallel connection PD across all branches will be same.

PD across 3 ohm = PD across 5 ohm = 9 V

current through 3 ohm = V / R = 9/3 = 3 A ....Ans

curent through 5 ohm = 9/5 = 1.8 A .....Ans

I would like the procedure for solving this problem. The answers are in the parentheses. For the circuit to the right, find the equivalent resistance, the total
