Question: During a card game, Fred said that the probability of getting dealt two aces was the same as getting an ace and a deuce, that the chance of getting any two cards was the same, whatever they are. Mary maintains that Fred is wrong. Who is right? Give your reasoning to support your conclusion.

Solution

P(getting two ace card) = 4/52 * 3/51

P(getting an ace and a deuce) = 4/52 * 4/51

Hence , these are not equal.

Mary is right . Fred is wrong.

Because if one ace card is drawn from 52 cards , remaining 51 cards will still have 3 aces but 4 deuces. That\'s why these two values are not eual.
