Consider the following hypothesis test H0 mu 15 H1 mu 15 A
     Consider the following hypothesis test: H_0: mu = 15 H_1: mu 15 A sample of 50 provided a sample mean of 16.5. The population standard deviation is 6. Use alpha = 0.01. What is the value of the test statistic? Round your answer to four decimal places.

  Solution
H0:=15 against H1: not =15, Zcal=(Xbar-)/(/n)=(16.5-15)/(6/50)=1.7678. Ztab(.01)=2.58, so Zcal<Ztab, H0 is accepted i.e.,H0:=15.
