Simplify the expression and write your answer as a fraction

Simplify the expression and write your answer as a fraction in lowest terms.

.(-1/4)+(-4/5)+(-2)

Solution

(-1/4)+(-4/5)+(-2)

Opening the brackets as per the rule of BODMAS, we get:

= -1/4 - 4/5 - 2

Taking LCM of 4 and 5 which will be 20, we get:

= (-5 -16 -40)/20

= - 61/20

Therefore, (- 61/20) is the answer in fraction in its lowest terms.
