Find the best predicted number of orange candies per bag when the brown candies are 14 per bag? What value can be used and why?

 Brown candies: 188, 151, 53, 187, 157
 Orange candies: 276, 246, 245, 226, 230

Solution
I presume that we are using regression techniques to solve this problem. Although we have a point that is far too of the target, we are still including it to predict or equation line with brown candies as independent variable and the orange candies as the dependent variable.
Thus, equation of line we use is :
a + bx = 240.20 + (0.0298 * 14)
= 240.61 orange candies per bag
However, a better estimate can be obtained when the extreme value is removed form the question.
Required orange candies per bag = (182.75 + 14(0.361604)
= 190.81
Hope this he;lps.
