Statistics WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE TEST?

I have the number or articles required each month in al list. , I want to estimate the probability distribution for this set of data. How do I this? and what is the name of the method?.

Step 1

We would generate a number of samples comprising different articles used during a month.

the different samples would comprise similar items with the same usage as those included in the other samples but featuristically slightly different from them in short different brands or something

Step 2

The mean of the usage of the number of items from these samples would be produced

Step 3

The distribution of mean of these samples would give us a probability distribution subject to the adoption of assumptions of the distribution you wish to choose - z-distribution, or t-distribution

The other method could be the generation of a histogram reflecting the usage of the articles (in numbers ) over the month. here you would be able to assess the importance of the articles in line of prioroty
