Please explain why a transformer still works even with a DC input to the forward converter.

Solution

Transformer in general works for AC only but it can sustain small amounts of DC input with short operating time. The same is applied in case of the forward converter , the windings of transformer are switched continuously so that only allowable time of input is given to the transformer and small amount of DC current flows in the circuit
