Four concepts for improving design of an onoff switch in a r
Solution
Given that some information in above problem from that we have to prepare a pugh chart.
So From That,
PUGH CHART :-
Design CrIteria
Concept D
DESIGN CRITERIA : -
1. PERFORMANCE : - Performance refers to a switch\'s primary operating charecterstics.
2. FEATUERS :- Features are additional charecterstics that enhance the appeal of the design of switch to the user.
3. RELIABILITY :- Reliability is the liklehood taht the switch will not fail within a specific time period. This is a key element for users who need the product to work without fail.
4. CONFORMANCE :- Conformance is the prescion with which the switch meets the specified standars.
5. DURABILITY :- Duarbility measures the length of the switch\'s life. When the product can be repaired, estimating durability is more complicated. The item will be used untill it is no longer economical to operate it. This happens when the repair rate and the associated costs to increase significantly.
6. SERVICEBILITY :- Servicebility is rthe speed with which the switch can be put into service when it breaks down, as well as the competence and the bhevaiour of the service person.
7. AESTHETICS :- Aesthetics is the subjective dimension indicating the kind of response a user has to the switch. It represents the individuals personal preferance.
8. PERCIVED QUALITY :- Percived quality is the quality atributed to the switch based on indirect measures.
Based on the PUGH CHART concept B is the best option. Concept B adds three buttons for on /off /and reverse. Concept B fulfils most of the design criteriaand achieves the closest score to Concept A.
