A signal m(t) band-limited to 10kHz is sampled at a rate 80% higher than Nyquist rate. Find Nyquist rate, Nyquist interval and Sampling rate. Also what is the sampling frequency range with signal distortion?

Solution

Given signal m(t) band limited to 10KHz

so Bandwidth of signal (W)=10KHz

We have formula for nyquist rate N.R=2*(maximum frequency component present in the signal or band width)

N.R=2*W=2*10KHz=20KHz

Nyquist interval=(1/Nyquist rate)=(1/20khz)=0.05ms

As singal is sampled at a rate 80% higher than the nyquist rate

now sampling rate=1,8*nyquist rate(N.R)=1.8*20=36KHz

Sampling rate=36KHz

Sampling frequency range with signal distortion is less than Nyquist rate i,e 20KHz

 A signal m(t) band-limited to 10kHz is sampled at a rate 80% higher than Nyquist rate. Find Nyquist rate, Nyquist interval and Sampling rate. Also what is the
