WHY Determine the domain and range of the piecewise function
WHY?
Determine the domain and range of the piecewise function. Domain [-0.5, 1]; Range [0, 1] Domain [-2, 2]; Range [-infinity, 1] Domain [-3, 3]; Range [-3, 1] Domain [-3,1]; Range [-3, 3]Solution
A graphical approach to obtaining the domain is to trace the points on the graph of the function and plot the x-coordinates of the points on a horizontal axis.
So from graph, Domain = [-3,3] , square brackets since -3 and 3 are also included
Similarly, for obtaining range we\'ll trace points on graph and plot y-coordinates of the points on a vertical axis.
So, Range=[-3,1]
