Chaperones are found in all types of cells and in most of the cell organelles. They are found in both periplasm and cytoplasm as the chaperones are involved in proper folding of protein molecules, once they are translated. There are some chaperones which are also found in extracellular spaces. These chaperones are involved in functional folding of those protein molecules which are to be released extracellularly.
