I would like to hear about the other things that you learned this week. It can be something you read in the news, or perhaps something that you thought might have been one way that ended up being different. By that, I mean did you learn something new this week that challenged a previous line of thinking? Perhaps you did not think the bond market had anything to do with loans, only to find out that it did, as an example.We learned about market bonds

The news that I read this week was about Saudi Arabia raising 11 billion US dollars in an emerging bond market. It defeated Qatar in being the biggest emerging bond market. Saudi Arabia sold 4.5 billion dollars worth of bonds and 3 billion dollars worth of notes along with 3.5 billion dollars of bonds maturity even later.

This came as a news for me because I was under the impression that Saudi Arabia is a self sufficient economy. However I read that the plunging oil prices has prompted the kingdom to sell US denominated bonds thus raising the debt of this Kingdom
