Explain the 10% law in energy transfer in at least one paragraph.

10 percent law was proposed by Raymond Lindeman. It states that during transfer of energy from one trophic level to next, only 10 percent of energy is stored as flesh. The remaining 90 percent is lost during transfer of the energy, broken down during respiration, or used up by organism for daily works, body heat etc. This 10 percent from the organic food can be transferred to the next generation. This next generation would transfer only 1 percent of that organic matter to the subsequent generations.

90 percent of the energy is lost in the transfer at each trophic level and 10 percent is passed to be used as biological energy.
