A process manufacturing taillights for a new line of automob
A process manufacturing taillights for a new line of automobile is seen to be in control, yet it is not meeting customer expectations. Too many parts are falling outside of the specifications. What should the operator on this line do about the problem? What need to be done in general?
Solution
Although the process is in control it is producing items not up to the mark. The reason behind this is the specification limits are well within the control limits. (i.e. Lower spec Limit(LSL) is < Lower control limit and Upper spec Limit(USL)< Upper control limit). To meet the specifications we need to shrik the LCL and UCL to match the specification levels
