In what way is the enzyme phosphofructosekinase allosterical
In what way is the enzyme, phosphofructosekinase, allosterically modulated by citrate, and how does this effect glycolysis?
Solution
The phosphofruktokinase is most important control element in glycolic pathway. Here the high levels of ATP allosterically inhibits the enzyme and lowers the enzyme of fructose- 6 - phosphate. A high concentration of ATP converts the hyperbolic binding curve of fructose 6 phosphate into sigmoidal curve.
