In meosis daughter cells contains half the chromosome number as that of parent cells

Meosis needs to cut half of the number of chromosomes in division to reduce the number of chromosomes in half to produce sex cells .

If this occured in mitosis cell growth & repair identical cells for repair would not happen but a new combination of halved cells would produced not producing similar Or viable cells for growth & repair

Mitosis = goal is to produce clone cells & not to produce new cells

In case of mitosis the daughter cells contain the chromosome number same as that of parent cell

i.e. they retain same chromosome number
