Write the expression as a single logarithm with a coefficien

Write the expression as a single logarithm with a coefficient of 1. Assume all variable expressions represent positive real numbers.

4 log x + log y -1/4 log y

Solution

4log x + log y -1/4log y

we have to use some log properties here

a lo b= log b^a

logm + log n=log(mn)

logm - log n= log(m/n)

log x^4 + log y - log y^1/4

log (x^4 y/y^1/4)= log (x^4 y^3/4)
