Pictures below show a same facet facing different directions. A and B are two cross sections with a same area. Do you think the mean flow speed in the pipe V_A will be , or = V_B in each case?

Solution

No matter which direction it is facing. A1V1 = A2V2. (continuity equaition). Here pipe is uniform throughout. So velocity wont change! Yes it wont change. it doesnt depend on Height. The peizo metric head will take care of the height differences. Height will not account for velocity. Va = Vb in all cases
