Use this graph of f(x) = x^2 - x - 6 to answer the questions What are the x-intercepts? (Use a comma to separate answers Type an ordered pair.) What are the zeros? (Use a comma to separate answers)
Solution
x- intercepts of a curve are the points at which the curve intersects x-axis and zeros are the x- coordinates at which it intersects x-axis.
From the graph it can be observed that the curve intersect x-axis at x = -2 and at x = 3. i.e., at the points (-2, 0) and (3, 0).
Thus, the x-intercepts are : (-2, 0), (0,3)
And the zeros are: -2, 3
