Server LAN in the network is a LAN where we have a dedicated servers for the clients .Files are stored in the server and clients access it. Peer to Peer on the other hand is the communication between the hosts withe each other. There is no dedicated central server which authenticate the hosts . Thus here the clients are independent with each other.
Peer to Peer networks are usually installed in the homes or in small offices where the employes exchange the files regularly. Where as clent/server network is used in big organisations.
