These tracheids are more beneficial in arctic plants, & these plants have only tracheids but not vessels because cells in tracheids of arctic plants possess thick cell wall enable tapering at the ends finally provide these plants to reach efficient heights to get sunlight. These events are followed by plant growth to taller heights to enable dispersal of seeds & spores to expand their range in arctic zone.
