For the circuit shown in the figure (Figure 1) find the reading of the idealized ammeter if the battery has an internal resistance of 3.56 Ohm.
Solution
First finding the equivalent resistance
45 and 15 ohms are in parallel
1/R =1/45 + 1/15
R=11.25 ohms
18 ohms ,3.56 ohms and 11.25 ohms are in series ,so equivalent resistance
Req=18+3.56+11.25
Req=32.81 ohms
So Current flowing through the circuit i.e reading of ammeter is
I =V/Req =25/32.81
I=0.762 A
